Where in the world were The Lost Kiwis?

The world has gone soft. GPS and mobile phones have become a necessity in exploring. Our lives are getting more comfortable, safer and predictable as the spindle fingers of technology grip the planet. Getting lost now is almost impossible. BOLLOCKS TO THAT!There’s a traffic jam to get to the top of the world’s tallest mountain and some bugger has already walked to the edge of all the maps… What room is there left for those of us who still yearn for a bit of old school adventure?

Welcome to the Mongol Rally: the greatest motoring adventure on the planet. The Lost Kiwis are a team entering the Mongol Rally which starts in July 2015. An epic journey that thunders over 22,000 kilometres across the mountains, deserts, and steppe of Europe and Asia each year. Starting in London and ending in Ulan-Ude (Buryatia, Russia). There’s no backup, no support, and no set route; just you, your fellow adventurists and a tiny car you bought from a scrapyard for £11.50.
The Mongol Rally is about getting lost, using your long neglected wits, raising bucket-loads of cash for charity, and scraping into the finish line with your vehicle in tatters with a wild grin smeared across your grubby face. Neither your car, nor your life, will ever be the same again.

“We believe the world is far too safe and organised, that we’ve come to live in ever decreasing circles of freedom. Fear of litigation, greed and a spineless refusal to take responsibility for ourselves have robbed us of one of the most interesting things in life: the unexpected.” ~ The Adventurists
